Every week we get together to have fun, learn old and new horo from across Bulgaria, and sometimes even try a dance from a neighbouring country. Come as you are — no experience or partner required.

    Popular and regional horo, new dances and old favourites — from easier to harder. Everyone's welcome; the more dancers, the merrier!

    Playful first steps in folk dance for our youngest dancers, on selected Sundays through the season.

    First steps

    The very first steps, right and left, a small group with personal attention — then you flow into the larger mixed group.

    Easy → medium

    The most-loved popular horo and their variations, working from easier towards harder. A little dance base helps — the more dancers, the merrier.

    Medium → challenging

    Popular and specific regional horo, more complex variations and combinations, with a focus on style, technique and expression. A solid dance base and musicality are needed.

    Extra option · twice a month

    Zora's old and new stage repertoire, preparing for performances at festivals and celebrations. Dancers of every level are welcome, beginners included — bring the motivation for the stage.

Rehearsals are held mainly in Bulgarian, with translation into English or Dutch when needed — non-Bulgarian speakers are very welcome in the group!
